I am going to use a similar layout style to this as i feel my image i am using is similar to this one which means the same positioning should work just as well.
Firstly with my image i have looked at having a grey backgroud compared to a white one to see if it works better. I had also thought about having a different setting such as bricks or patterns and a background, but felt this may look to busy and be unconventional for this genre.
Firstly i cut the image out from the white background in photoshop using the magnetic lasso tool to then paste it into a grwy background before experimenting with text and pictures. I felt that for my colour scheme using purples, white would be a better back ground for this and allow it to stand out more. Also the black on his clothing with the grey background looked a bit drowning and dull. I felt this was a good exercise to do as it allowed me to see what themes worked and what didnt.
