Primary Magazine

For my first project i had to create a school magazine front page and contents page. I felt this was useful in order to get used to timing- how long to spend on editing, articles, taking the photos and so on and also, to get used to the advanced programs we would be expected to use at a good standard such as in design and photoshop. These were my outcomes for this task

With my front page i experimented with photoshop to create the image black and white with a spot light of colour in the middle which was fitting with my subheadings of "puts the spotlight on the students". My text and layout is not very fitting with conventions but i ran out of time to make this better.

Again there is alot of improvements i could make to this but i felt it helped me using indesign with positioning and what worked and what didnt. Also thinking about colour schemes is going to be very important in order to make my magazine look proffesional.


I felt that I did not plan my time very well and had to rush with the writing with to much focus on editing and postioning. I did learn alot through practice and tutorials with photoshop and indesign and was able to decide which i found easier and which i would use to create my final product on. There was alot i still couldnt do successfully after this task but i hope that once i start i will pick new things up.
