Naming my magazine
After looking at music magazines I have found that they have a convention to often be short and catchy names. Magazines that I have come across this in are 'NME', 'Q' and 'MOJO'. These names work well as there short, catchy and memorably to a youth audience and therefore with hundreds of issues appearing they can easily be identified meaning eventually more front page space. Longer magazine names include “Kerrang” however this would be easily remebered and there are other things relating to kerang ie music channels etc. Although these names are longer I feel that they work well to there target audience as they have a punchy sound to them when said. Thinking about possible names for mine, I thought of the types of things or people that were associated with alternative indie music (without calling it indie!) and came up with “Indie Cindy” as a long one, however this isn’t very punchy as I would like it. The focus for a long time with this music was “scene kids” etc therefore I will work with SCENE for now and see if it is fitting and works well within my layout ideas.
